Sam Snapper has been taking photographic images since he was ten years old. His first camera, which he still has in his small collection, was Kodak 126 Box. He continue to use film until 2010 when he was dragged kicking and screaming into the digital age by his wife.
Over the years Sam has been involved in all aspects of photography. For many years he took motorsports pics in his native New Zealand, photographing riders laying it down on a fast bend and then selling them the image to fund his photographic sorties.
A foray in the 1980’s into the sale of photographic film products for Polaroid found Sam hanging around in studios of still life, advertising and art photographers. He purchased his first medium format camera for his own studio work and enjoyed the artistic effects of using an 8 inch x 10 inch Polaroid sheet film camera.
